02Self-performedMB · SK · AB · BC

Spray foam where the envelope leaks air and blown-in insulation where batts can’t reach, sealed before the board goes on.

What’s included

The usual scope. Every job is priced from its drawings, so tell us what yours calls for.

  • Spray foam at rim joists, slab edges and transitions
  • Air sealing at penetrations and rough openings
  • Blown-in insulation for attics and closed cavities
  • Foam at hard-to-reach and irregular cavities

How we deliver it

01Prep

Surfaces are checked, cleaned and masked; other trades are cleared from the area while foam is applied.

02Apply

Foam goes on in passes to the specified thickness, with blown-in insulation where cavities are closed.

03Check

Coverage and thickness are checked before the area is released for vapour barrier and board.

Common questions

What is the difference between closed-cell and open-cell foam?

Closed-cell foam is dense and rigid, insulates more per inch and, applied thick enough, also acts as an air and vapour barrier, so it is used at rim joists and the building envelope. Open-cell foam is lighter and softer, cheaper per inch, and is often chosen for sound control inside walls.

When does spray foam make sense over batts?

Where air leakage is the problem: rim joists, slab edges, penetrations and odd-shaped cavities. Foam fills and seals gaps that batts leave behind.
